Finding Thunder Mountain

How we discovered the Mountain –

Being outdoors has always been a big part of our lives! We (Todd and his wife) grew up in Missouri and met in school while studying geology. Our jobs took us from Missouri to Oklahoma and then to Texas where we are raising our daughters. Since our families still live in Missouri, we often travel through Arkansas. We fell in love with the Caddo Gap area and decided that when the time came to retire, this would be our home. To prepare, we wanted to buy some land and slowly pay it off while still working. As we searched online a problem developed… Todd’s wife fell in love with a cabin on 3 acres.  Todd fell in love with 35 acres with no cabin. Both were on the S. Fork Caddo River, but accessed by different roads. It wasn’t until we drove out to visit both properties that we discovered they joined the river together! It was meant to be! Since then, we added more acres to surround the cabin with nature. Sharing the cabin with our guests has been a lot of fun! We love the idea that families, couples, and lone travelers are getting to enjoy this special place as much as we do! Some guests return every year and we hope you will too.  Thank you for being our guests!

The cabin on Thunder Mountain is our primary rental. This calendar is allowed to fill in first. After it is full, we allow campers to fill in gaps between cleaning and cabin stays.

Camping on Thunder Mountain is a cheaper way to enjoy the entire property but is only available for adults (no kids, 2 guests max)
